My First Scratchbuilt Project
After attending the Carolina Southern Division's Railroad Modelers University, I felt empowered to attempt scratchbuilding my first structure. I have recently started modifying prefab building kits with some success, but have never made anything from sheets of Styrene.
So, without further ado, here is a photo of the new barn at Franklin Farms. I still have to paint and weather, but was pretty excited to post a picture.

Back in the Day
Last night, I was going through some old family pictures and came across these old layout photos. This was in a former life when I was in HO scale. I was fortunate enough for my dad to not only buy me the wood and supplies to start a basic layout, but turnover one bay of the garage for me to use for the layout that kept growing. He even bought a kerosene heater for me to use so I could play with the trains in the winter time. It was quite crude and changed often, but I thoroughly enjoyed it growing up.
I also recall at one point, I had a Rock Island "Shark Nose" engine. I believe it was made by Tyco. Little did I know years later I would end up having a large N scale layout of the ROCK.
My cousin Vikki playing with the cars.
Wood staged for a project I was working on with my dad. We built a bridge across the creek in our backyard.
