The ROCK 3.0: Minor Progress Report

This evening, I attempted to work on a few projects.  I started to review the windows and materials required for the ground sand plant, but also started gathering materials for the sand loadout over tracks 1-4 at Ottawa Silica.

My daughter helped me cut out the windows.  So far, I cut out about 75 windows or so.  I need a lot!

While reviewing the Bing Map photos, I noticed the line of concrete blocks along the roadway within Ottawa Silica's plant.  I looked through my collection of styrene parts and found some square tubing that seemed to fit the bill.

So, I cut up some pieces and glued them down to see what it looks like.  I think it will work well with a little more scenery and weathering.

Focus your attention to the concrete blocks on Plant Road within the Ottawa Silica complex.

Plant Road before.

Plant Road after with concrete blocks.

I think it looks pretty good and about the right size.

In other news, I've scheduled another operating session for March 28th.  April was out for most of my operators, so I've pushed it up to the end of the month.  I'm looking forward to the ROCK coming alive again.
