Last night, Engineering began working on blasting a hole through the entertainment center console for the N&W Peoria Branch extension. The crew encountered issues boring through the sidewall. MDF is tough to cut. Engineering put in a request with senior management for machinery with more blasting power.
Today, management acquired the necessary tools. This evening, Engineering was successful in blasting through the entertainment center console sidewall. Benchwork was installed into the curve behind the TV set. The crew had a strict curfew (kid's bedtime) to adhere to so construction came to a quick halt.
Engineering expects to continue construction this weekend. While the loaner equipment is in our possession, management hopes crews will continue with the Chicago & Northwestern Clinton, IA branch.
