The ROCK 3.0: Peoria & Eastern GP7 - Part II

Today, I decalled up the Peoria & Eastern GP7 #5628.  I've only found a few photos online, but it appears the P&E simply took Penn Central GP7s and added their logo where they saw fit.  I like the arrangement on this one.  For the second one, I'll mix it up a bit.

Paint:
Tru-Color TCP-010 Black

Decals:
Microscale 60-1098 - Penn Central Non-Standard Boxcar Lettering (for Peoria & Eastern)
Microscale 60-84 - Penn Central Diesels (1968-1976)

I'm so glad I decided to try custom painting.  I might not be the best at it yet, but working hard to figure it out.  I really love having some custom pieces nobody else has.  :-)

I was planning on painting the second P&E GP7 this weekend, but noticed the one I purchased off eBay didn't match the description.  Waiting on the replacement now.  This weekend, I plan on working on some other projects though.

- Four CPC International Tank Cars
- Repair of one CPC International Tank Car (fix paint line)
- Atlas P&PU S2.
- Possible TP&W C424s.

    1. Are you modeling N scale or HO? I would have loved to have the logo, but no source for N Scale that I could find. I did hear someone makes it in HO recently though.

  6. I am modeling n scale. right now my decal logo is being made and its going to be trial by error.. decal maker couldnt give me 100 percent of quality of decal being its soo small to fit under cab windows.. I hope to have decals to inspect by middle of next week. you might have heard of rail graphics from joliet illinios. this fellow is making my decals I have ordered from him in past and very pleased with his decals. I have other fictional railroad decals(Illiana Central) made from rail graphics.,
You are right about trying to find the round logo was very hard to find a straight on pic of it. most are from angles in pictures and none listed on net in good quality..only thing that comes close is the P&E railroad patch for clothing.

    1. Cool! I have been working with another guy trying to get decals for the Peoria & Pekin Union. So far the samples I have seen the decal is real fuzzy on the logo.
